7 in custody after morning raid

Federal, state and local police agencies descended upon the Dogwood Terrace housing project off 15th Avenue this morning as part of major investigation into drug sales in that area.

Anthony Russo, the supervisory senior resident agent of the FBI’s field office in Augusta, said seven people are in custody on various charges relating to drug and weapons possession.

Agent Russo said the FBI’s Central Savannah River Area Safe Streets Task Force, began the investigation into a group called Small World, which he described as a “group of guys all of working together to control the drug distribution trade in that housing project.”

Authorities seized more than $50,000 in cash, about nine guns, several automobiles and powdered and crack cocaine, Agent Russo said.

The suspects, whose names were not immediately released, were involved in drug actives throughout the area.

“It transcended the boundaries of Dogwood Terrace,” Agent Russo said.

Where does the dollars go?
Unpublished

Where does the dollars go? And notice the absence of the exact number of officers used to arrest only seven people, probably around forty or fifty. And they arrested only seven guys...wow! Thats not many, so drug activity must be on the decline. Eh? Or is this a misuse of personnel or misguided priorities? And they better count that money again.

justus4 - Now that I'm home,

justus4 - Now that I'm home, I can say whatever I want. The dollars probably go to buy who knows what. And you know what "what" is. The Augusta Housing Authority is a worthless agency when it comes to keeping the public housing clean and safe. And we taxpayers pay for this mess. Instead of getting real worthwhile jobs, and contribute, they sell drugs and destroy. And we'll probably see a p&ssy judge give them probation. Put their butts in jail at night, and the chain gang during the day. Unfortunately, they probably have baby-mommies running around also. There has to be culture shift to make things better, and I haven't seen it yet. While President Obama is trying to decide what to do with healthcare, he'd better see about welfare reform.

justus, it takes a small army

justus, it takes a small army of cops to arrest the criminals because they usually don't surrender willingly. Yes it is expensive, but it is far more expensive to live like a 3rd world country where honest, hard working citizens can't conduct their lives in peace and safety.

What Justus4 dosent realize

What Justus4 dosent realize is that these 7 arrested were probably the big fish. FBI is not going to task out man power for the street level little fish. In order to be successful you have to kill the snake by cutting off its head. But I am sure that tree hugging justus4 feels that these hard working drug dealers were trying to feed the families. How about going to dogwood and providing some community outreach justus4 and stop trying to be a hero from your computer table!! Loser!!

Here's the best idea.. We

Here's the best idea.. We should start exporting these thugs to the highest bidder prison.. Either in the US or anywhere in the world.. Talk about a major shift in crime.. Just think, you get busted selling drugs and you have no idea where you are going to end up.. Just think, one day you are in court, the next, you are in China or Mexico in a prison.. THAT would help with our crime problem.. You got family.. TOUGH, should've thought of that before you did the crime!

Justus, I wonder what color

Justus, I wonder what color the seven were. Also, what color was the woman stealing from a dead person.I guess that doesn't matter especially if the dead person was white.

Justus4, if you lived with

Justus4, if you lived with your children in a housing project, trying your best to do right by your children and make ends meet to get back on your feet, would you really care how many police it took to get these 7 drug dealing gun toating thugs out of government housing? First, it wasn't anywhere near the number of law enforcement officers you suggest but if they make their arrests of law breaking citizens and no one gets hurt, including the criminals, what exactly is your complaint? Are you ever on the side of law and order? Do your really continue to support drug dealers, habitual violators and felons carrying firearms simply because of their race? Do you really belive that every black person deserves a pass because of the color of their skin even if they are the ones brining down the children of color as well as others? Sometimes, you acutally can make since but your continued support of those committing crimes and your disdain for those who enforce the laws of this country are ridiculous.
