finally! GREAT JOB!
Will Georgians remain sleep forever in the past? The war between the states ended over a hundred years ago. Wake-up Georgians, and be a leader in the south. Stop looking back. Let the dead bury their dead. Go forward. Don't let those who let their fore-fathers past down their hate, steer you down hate road too.
Thank you Georgia for honoring these heros. Make April Confederate History Month!
Go rednecks! Free holiday
Madquack? Will BLACK Georgians remain forever in the past? I invite you to re-read your entire comment but from THAT prespective. See? It goes both ways, doesn't it? The only Whites who have a hard time forgetting are the ones who have had families born and raised here going back many generations...the others don't care as much. Like it or not, it is history and it should be remembered, for whatever reasons people take from it.
Massachusetts does the same thing, thier holiday was last Monday and it is called Patriots Day, many people from all over the world come and celebrate by running in The Boston Marathon, Georgia should do the same. It is not a matter of dividing north from south, its not a matter of who won or lost it is a matter of having Pride in your heritage. Way to go, lets celebrate and be thankful a lot of men lost thier lives to give us what we have today, celebrate thoes lives.
mom: Those that lost their lives to give us what we have today fought on the side of the Union. Unfortunately, that's not who they choose to celebrate today.
