Thee-car accident downtown sends mother and children to hospital

A mother and her two children were hospitalized Saturday following a three-car wreck in downtown Augusta, authorities say.

Richmond County Sheriff's Cpl. Gary Jones said there were serious injuries in the accident, which occurred about 4 p.m. at the intersection of Broad and 13th streets. A mother and her two children were sent to a local hospital. Their condition is unknown.

Authorities are still at the scene of the accident.
