AIKEN On the anniversary of an Aiken middle school special education teacher stabbing death, police are asking the public for help.
A year ago Saturday, Kennedy Middle School special education teacher Ann Fox Smith was found stabbed to death in her home.
Since then, the case has remained a mystery, with no suspects or persons of interest being named in the murder. With the anniversary, authorities are once again asking for the publics help in finding her killer.
Somebody knows something, said Lt. David Turno of the Aiken Department of Public Safety. And theres no telling that this killer over the past year may have said something to somebody that might have raised some suspicion or concerns, and we want that person to call us.
On April 25, 2008, Ms. Smiths body was found stabbed multiple times at her Whitney Drive home after she didnt show up for work at Kennedy Middle, where she had been a special education teacher for 18 years.
The most recent development in the case occurred earlier this week when authorities announced they have excluded Ms. Smiths son, Larson Smith, from any involvement in his mothers death.
