A 16-year-old juvenile is in police custody after an early morning break-in at the Polaris ATV store on Washington Road.

A sheriff’s deputy spotted the teen riding on a four-wheeled ATV early this morning near Warren Road, according to Richmond County Sheriff’s Sgt. Ken Eskew.

The teen abandoned the ATV and ran away but was apprehended by the deputy. Investigators are now looking for several other suspects who helped the teen break into a fenced in area of the store. Three four-wheeled ATV’s, a dirt bike, a utility vehicle were driven from the store early this morning, Sgt. Eskew said.

The utility vehicle was recovered later near Westside High School because one of the suspects had difficulty driving the vehicle’s manual transmission, he said.
