Another North Augusta bank robbed; shots possible

Police are still looking for a man who robbed the Bank of America on Martintown Road today.

North Augusta Public Safety’s Lt. Tim Pearson said a man wearing black pants, a black shirt and a mask and carrying a pistol entered the bank around 12:30 p.m. and demanded money. He fled into a wooded area behind the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

A state constable who was in the parking lot at the time attempted to stop the robber as he came out of the bank but was unable to make physical contact.

Lt. Pearson said a report that gunshots were fired has not been verified.

No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male with dreadlocks, wearing dark clothing.
