Bond hearing today in tow-truck fatality

A bond hearing is scheduled for this afternoon in Columbia County for a South Carolina couple accused of fatally running down an Augusta man in the path of their tow truck.

Michael Faron Brown, 27, and his wife, Victoria Nichole Brown, 20, both of Gaston, S.C., are charged with murder in the April 9 death of William Leslie Jacobs at the home of a friend in Martinez. The Browns were repossessing a truck belonging to Mr. Jacobs’ friend.

The hearing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at the Columbia County Justice Center before Superior Court Chief Judge J. Carlisle Overstreet.
