USC Aiken places fourth in Peach Belt

In Carthage, N.C., defending champion USC Aiken shot its lowest round of the tournament to finish fourth in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament at Little River Golf Club.

The Pacers, who are ranked fourth in NCAA Division II, finished the 54-hole event at 296-298-294–888, 22 shots behind winner and 15th-ranked Clayton State (289-289-288).

Top-ranked Columbus State finished second at 292-287-292– 871, while second-ranked Georgia College and State was third at 289-287-292–873.

Clayton State’s Wade Binfield claimed medalist honors at 67-70-73–210.

Four-time All-Peach Belt Conference selection Roberto Diaz tied for 14th at 69-80-73–222 to lead USC Aiken.
