Beer bandit suspects caught

Authorities have arrested two men wanted in the theft of beer from stores in Aiken, Columbia and Richmond counties.

Joshua Michael Bell, 29, and Thomas Roy Crookshank, 37, are each charged with multiple counts of theft by shoplifting, according to Richmond County Sheriff's Investigator Shawn Newsome.

Two men were caught on video last week as they stole beer from a convenience store on Boy Scout Road. Police believe the men have stolen beer, typically Bud Light, from at least 10 stores in Richmond County.

Mr. Crookshank was arrested today at the Royal Inn on Jefferson Davis Highway in North Augusta, and Mr. Bell was taken into custody Sunday in Aiken County, Investigator Newsome said.
