Mayor Protem Alvin Mason said today that he will not replace Augusta Richmond County Coliseum Authority Member Willie Law at Tuesday's commission meeting.

With legislation awaiting the governor's signature ending current member terms on May 31, Mr. Mason said, there's not enough time left for the authority to accomplish anything.

Two members have already resigned, and Mr. Mason said he hears more resignations are expected.

That being the case, he said he'll probably leave Mr. Law, who was appointed by predecessor Bernard Harper, in place.
