Tornado watch issued for area

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for east central Georgia and central South Carolina.

Columbia, Richmond, McDuffie, Lincoln, Taliaferro, Warren, Wilkes, Edgefield, McCormick and Saluda counties are included in the watch that runs through 7 a.m. today.

The Weather Service also has issued a severe thunderstorm warning. Large hail and damaging winds are possible.
