Mississippi State junior Drew Davis rallied from nine shots down in the final round Saturday to capture the individual national title at the Collegiate Disc Golf Championships at North Augusta’s Hippodrome.

Davis shot five-under-par 63 on the difficult Black Course to overtake Arkansas’ Matt Scott, the leader after Friday’s second round, by one stroke.

Davis’ low round help catapult the Bulldogs into the lead in the team competition by one shot over Alabama-Huntsville.

The team title will be determined Sunday after an alternate shot doubles round and a putting competition.
