Columbia County's new Blues, Barbecues and Brews series takes its maiden voyage at 7 p.m. tonight with a concert by Ship of Fools.

The series, scheduled to continue for the next two Fridays, will be held at the Columbia County Amphitheater in Evans, behind the library.

The event is presented by Columbia County Community Events and replaces a country music series held last spring.

Admission is free, with barbecue from Edmunds Bar-B-Que for sale. Beer and wine will be sold by Vineyard Wine Market.

Patrons are advised to bring blankets and chairs to the event. Coolers are prohibited.

Next Friday's concert will feature music from Reed's Brown Beret and barbecue from Shane's Rib Shack. The series concludes May 1 with Electric Voodoo and barbecue from Goolsby's Bar-B-Q.
