The American Red Cross’s Augusta chapter is asking the public to help in a special cleanup effort in Richmond County that will occur on Saturday.

Volunteers should first report to the Augusta Red Cross office at 1322 Ellis Street between 8 and 9 a.m. Saturday.

Those looking to help clean debris in the area should wear work clothes and bring safety equipment, tools and gloves, according to a Red Cross news release.

Volunteers with Habitat for Humanity will then form teams to be deployed to areas where homeowners have asked for help.

For more information, call the Augusta Red Cross office at (706) 724-8481.

Meanwhile, the American Red Cross’s Aiken chapter says they are in need of monetary donations. Those can be made at American Red Cross, 1314 Pine Log Road, Aiken 29803 or by calling (803) 641-4152.
