Fort offers Saturday event for children

A celebration for military children will be held at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on Fort Gordon's Barton Field at Rice Road across from Freedom Park.

The Month of the Military Child celebration will feature rides, an obstacle course, lawn sports, arts and crafts, face painting, food, information booths and demonstrations. A performance of “The Princess and the Pea” will begin at 2 p.m. on the outdoor stage on Barton Field.
