A Navy petty officer stationed at Fort Gordon has been indicted on federal child pornography charges, which were made public Monday.
Jeremy Williams, a cryptologist with high security clearance, was indicted on charges of receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography, charges punishable by five to 20 years in prison.
According to a search warrant filed in U.S. District Court, Petty Officer Williams thought he was trading sexually suggestive emails with a 14-year-old girl last year. The teenager was actually a Live Oak, Fla., mother of a 13-year-old girl who had been solicited by an adult male when she logged into a chatroom.
Petty Officer Williams is being held without bond. An arraignment has not been set.
Its getting crazier by the minute out there.
So if the Petty Officer is being charged with receipt and possession...is the mother being charged with distribution?
this is just sick and disgusting....what is wrong with people these days...
I think the mother is actually part of an organization that catches these sickos. She probably got involved after something similar happened to her child. That part of the article was poorly written.
Way to go Mom!! I believe she was working undercover to help catch this crazy physco people. That is one less pervert out there still soliciting innocent young girls. Glad he has been caught!!! I have a 10 year old daughter and I can only imagine what I would do if this happened to my daughter. The guy wouldn't live to see the inside of a jail cell.
HHSgrad, make sure you get in the habit NOW of checking behind your daughter's computer and, if applicable, cellphone activities! Most parents say they will do it, but then, when it gets down to it, you begin to feel that you are invading their privacy and you are showing them you aren't trusting them. Well, guess what?? You CAN'T trust them, nor their friends!! Children, pre-teens, and teenagers are not, for the most part, mature enough to always do the right thing. YOU are their parent, NOT their friend! Trust me, I know what I'm talking about, friend. Please do this for your child, and they will ultimately thank you for it. And, society will thank you too!
JMO, u r right on point! We parents need to remember what role we play in the lives of our children. PARENT not FRIEND.
JMO, spot on.
What, there aren't any available women his age? What a perv!
