Congressman, others planning to speak at amphitheater 'tea party’

  • Follow Latest News

U.S. Congressman Paul Broun and South Carolina Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer are among a list of scheduled speakers taking part in Wednesday’s Augusta Tax Day Tea Party at the Augusta Riverwalk Amphitheater from 5 to 10 p.m.

According to a press release, the Tea Party is a described as non-partisan, nationwide event designed to send a message to representatives in Washington that citizens are fed-up with the tax and spend politics that will bankrupt the nation for future generations.

Others on the speaker list include Jeff Annis, Helen Blocker-Adams, Bobby Ross and Michael Ryan, editorial page editor of The Augusta Chronicle.

The protests against the

The protests against the citizen tea parties—which were organized to stop Washington D.C.’s continued theft of trillions of taxpayer dollars—are said to be very well-organized and funded by anti-USA sources. The seemingly pro-Socialist and Fascist blog sites Huffington Post and Daily Kos are said to be recruiting rabble-rousers to turn peaceful protests into violent and racist events. Other reports include ACORN and other groups staging counter-protests in support of Obama’s and Congress’ gutting of the US Treasury.

Obama’s group “Americans

Obama’s group “Americans United for Change”—a group that has taken out TV Ads pushing Obama’s budget—advises that counter protests “will hold dozens of events outside local post offices in at least 30 states to highlight President Obama’s plan to help restore fairness to the tax code, including closing an outrageous loophole in the tax code that allows offshore corporate tax havens, as called for within the president’s budget.” A spokeswoman for the group appeared on Neil Cavuto’s program actually defending Obama’s and Congress’ ongoing destruction of the US economy! Note: This is what we get from one of Obama’s paid PR groups. By the way, is he also using our taxpayer money to pay these people?

Why is it when Republicans

Why is it when Republicans form a gathering to voice their opinions, it's stupid whinning poor loosers....BUT if Democrats gather together to voice their opinions, it's supportive patriotic encouragement. For all those ranting about the CCYR, give it up. Not everyone is in favor of President Obama's policies and spending habits so they are entitled to meet and speak their minds. I've not heard any negative comments about ACORN and their cronies meeting on Wednesday in support of President Obama's budget....why doesn't CCYR get the same rights?

So if people who disagree

So if people who disagree come, they will be allowed equal time and courtesy to speak their views? I don't doubt it, I KNOW it's never gonna happen. Hope you all drown on your "tea" made with teh crocodile tears you're dripping. I've not had(and still won't) tax breaks, while you greedy bas---ds have raked in your "hard-earned" money. It's time YOU paid for a while. When someone who has MILLIONS pays less percentage of their money than I do, greed has won. I hope you Republicans enjoy tour bitter tea. I also hope that Dems win the next 5 elections, just so I can come in here and push it in your faces. God forgive me for EVER calling myself a Republican.

GAC posted "So if people who disagree come, they will be allowed equal time and courtesy to speak their views? " Will the Republicans be allowed equal time and courtesy to speak their views when ACORN and the democrates meet to support the president's budget on April 15th? I think NOT either. Your comment "...just so I can come in here and push it in your faces." sounds oh so mature there GACopperhead.

Sure, dissenters will be

Sure, dissenters will be welcome to speak at the demonstration tomorrow. Then, the NAACP will welcome me for a rousing delivery of Bill Cosby's speech to Speilman. It could happen. Really.

All the Republicans can do is

All the Republicans can do is whine and complain after THEIR president and policies bankrupted this country. The deficit and spending were already at their highest, and what do republicans want to do about it? cut taxes MORE! WOW THAT WILL HELP! Wake up republicans, you caused this mess and you have no solutions. I'll just sit back and enjoy my own tea and watch President Obama spend money trying to FIX THE MESS BUSH LEFT.

Yeah "noway" just sit back on

Yeah "noway" just sit back on your rear and enjoy drinking your tea while the rest of us hard working American's bust our butts trying to make enough money to live on after it's taxed to death to help pay back what President Obama plans on spending and giving away. Makes sense to me.

I wish William F. Buckley

I wish William F. Buckley were still alive. He was the kind of conservative that even if you didn't agree with him you could have respect for his opinions because they were well thought out. The Right now has Sarah Palin, Paul Broun, Mark Sanford and George W to be the "intellectual" backbones of the group. Kind makes you feel sorry for them in a way. But not!

This action is not whining -

This action is not whining - it is sending a message to elected officials who do not respond to the will of the common people. The bloated government is the fault of both Republicans and Democratics.

The mess George W. Bush left us is being continued by President Obama - and his deficit spending iwill be our children's and grandchildren's legacy.

People have had enough - they just did not start this soon enough.

noway, if what Bush did was

noway, if what Bush did was bad, why is what Obama doing not worse? Oh by the way, there was news today that we might be coming out of the recession. That would be way before Obama's stimulus package actulally hits the streets. Do you have any recollection of economists saying we would emerge from this without the hell to pay that Obama has initiated? And if you want to give the big O credit, the part of his stimulus plan that has already hit the streets is the tax cut part. GO FIGURE.
