2 sought on murder charges

Columbia County police are looking for two South Carolina residents who face murder charges after an Augusta man died when struck by a vehicle in Martinez on Thursday.

Arrest warrants for Michael Faron Brown and his wife, Victoria Brown, have been issued following the death of William Jacobs, 64, of Belair Road, said Columbia County Sheriff’s Senior Investigator Wynn Howard.

Mr. Jacobs and his wife were visiting friends at a home on Roswell Drive in Martinez last Thursday night.

The homeowners of the Roswell Drive residence were having their truck voluntarily repossessed, Investigator Howard said. At about 7 p.m., Mr. Jacobs was struck in front of the home by Mr. Brown’s wrecker.

“It wasn’t an accident,” Investigator Howard said.

Mr. Jacobs was taken to Doctors Hospital, where he died about 9:30, said Columbia County Deputy Coroner Harriett Garrison.

After striking Mr. Jacobs, Mr. Brown left the scene without the repossessed truck.

Investigator Howard said the incident is still under investigation.

In addition to murder charges, Mr. Brown is charged with aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, and Ms. Brown is charged with battery. More charges could be brought forth against the couple, he said.

There must be something

There must be something missing in this story......so the wrecker driver was aiming for the victim? Am I the only one who doesn't get this?

Rewrite the story so it makes

Rewrite the story so it makes more sense. The order of events aren't even sensible. Jenna, you need to get the facts straight or identify who did what to whom.

I get the idea that Mr Jacobs

I get the idea that Mr Jacobs interferred with the tow truck and the Browns decided to get him out of the way.

If this was a voluntary repo,

If this was a voluntary repo, then why was a friend getting involved? Yes, there is more to this story than what we're getting now. Our prayers are with the victim and his family though......

Why was it being voluntarily

Why was it being voluntarily repossessed at night. And why was he involved, hate that it happened but sometimes we put ourselves in harms way. Prayers are with the family.

It doesn't matter if he was

It doesn't matter if he was getting involved or not, you simply do not run over someone and leave the scene.

Just so everyone knows the

Just so everyone knows the reason Mr Jacobs was involved is because Mr Brown (the tow truck driver) while attempting to take the reposessed truck hit Mr Jacobs vehicle with the truck. All Mr Jacobs was trying to do was to stop the driver of the tow truck to let him know he was damaging his vehicle. Yes the story is a little confusing but until all of the details in this MURDER investigation are brought to light everyone really needs to keep thier opions to about things they really do not know about to themselves. Thank You
