Weather pounds Augusta National

  • Follow Latest News

Augusta National took a beating Friday night.

Not from the assault on par by the Masters field, but from Mother Nature. Severe weather, in the form of heavy rain and hail, swept through the course after 10 p.m.

The tournament was lucky that the weather arrived well after the patrons had left the course. But the press building definitely took a beating tonight.

Gates are still scheduled to open at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, and the first tee time is at 10:35 a.m. Co-leaders Chad Campbell and Kenny Perry are scheduled to tee off at 2:45 p.m.

Check back for updates.
