State group to investigate allegations at Spirit Creek Middle

A new investigation is being launched into two former Spirit Creek Middle School educators.

The Georgia Professional Standards Commission, the agency responsible for certifying teachers, voted this morning to investigate former Principal Sharon McAlevy and former teacher Denise Ogden, said Gary Walker, the commission's deputy executive secretary and head of its educator ethics division.

Since October, the Richmond County school system has been conducting its own investigation of an alleged love triangle among school employees. The allegations were that staff members were having sex during school hours on campus last school year.
