After a morning Masters commute that featured unexpected backups on Berckmanns Road, a broken-down bus full of children and a slow-moving, oversized concrete truck on I-20, traffic appeared normal by noon.

Through mid-morning, vehicles had backed up Berckmanns Road to Walton Way, and jammed Ingleside Drive and Wheeler Road.

The free parking lots were filling up, but officials said some spots should remain available throughout the day.

Earlier this morning a stalled bus briefly slowed traffic. Officials said they think the bus was bringing children to an Augsuta event when it broke down on the westbound Interstate-20 exit ramp to Washington Road.

It was moved off the roadway, and another bus was sent to pick up the children.

I-20 traffic was later complicated when an oversized truck carrying concrete materials moved slowly through the Augusta interchange.

Let the out-of-town suckers

Let the out-of-town suckers get jammed up in traffic and spend their money in Augusta. We are contributing to the St. Augustine economy during Augusta's "crazy week".

I just hope everybody's out

I just hope everybody's out of there and they've opened up Stanley Drive by the time I get there next week! What a pain. You'd think with all their influence with the city, they would have built some flyovers exclusively for their traffic. Hey maybe they'll buy out Jamestown, too and put in an airstrip.....

NOTHING helps Augusta more

NOTHING helps Augusta more than the Masters. From part time jobs, to home rentals, the the millions of dollars brought into and spent within the community to the 13% bed tax money on every hotel room to the 10% tax on every alcoholic beverage sold or the 7% tax on every single item sold, Augusta depends on the Masters and the minor traffic irritiations to a few are minimal. The 3 million dollars ANGC contributes every year to local charities alone is enough to deal with a few minor traffice issues without all the complaining.
