A Harlem woman believed to have been kidnapped by her boyfriend, after he robbed Grovetown residents at gunpoint in their home Friday, has now been charged in that crime.

Shashawna Diane Odell, 27, of the 500 block of Lou Lane, was charged Sunday with robbery, tampering with evidence and hindering the apprehension/punishent of a criminal. She was being held in the Columbia County Detention Center without bond, according to jail records.

Police said Christopher Grier, of the 700 block of Knox Road in Harlem, is suspected in the armed robbery. Police initially believed Mr. Grier then kidnapped Ms. Odell and their 7-month-old son and told her to drive him to Monroeville, Ala.

An Amber Alert was issued for Ms. Odell and her son after she called her mother in Washington D.C. The mother called police claiming her daughter was kidnapped, said Investigator Scott Wheatley of the Grovetown Department of Public Safety.

Police located Ms. Odell’s car and stopped her in Newton County, Ga. After confirming she and the baby were safe, Ms. Odell drove back to Harlem on Sunday evening.

Grovetown police questioned Ms. Odell, who admitted she willingly drove Grier to Alabama. She also told police that she drove the getaway car for Mr. Grier as he conducted the robbery and disposed of the gun he used, Investigator Wheatley said. The gun was recovered on Kings Way in Harlem.

Kidnapping warrants against Mr. Grier have been dropped, Columbia County sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris said. However, Mr. Grier is wanted for the robbery.

IT is a wonder that the

IT is a wonder that the sister's girlfriends boyfriends best friends ex-morther-in-law's grandson's uncle's brother wasn't in on this also! Someone should have thought about the welfare of the child! Oh, that's right, he will be the taxpayers problem until his parents get out of jail. I really do feel sorry for the child in this situation. Whoever winds up with custody, I hope they will instill better values in this child and if the parents get out of jail, I hope they never get to see the child again.

If these criminals would

If these criminals would watch some of those Lifetime movies, they could get a grip on how to do some of these crimes without looking so stupid. Every plot has already had a movie made about it. You can learn what to do, and what not to do. I wonder if they have Lifetime on the prison cable?

What a shame that local law

What a shame that local law enforcement was busy chasing shadows when they could have been utilized to solve a real crime. These two should be charged the maximum the law allows.
