Sheriffs Lt. Scott Peebles said his department plans to submit its evidence in the case to the district attorneys office for possible indictment.
He said there was still some confusion as to whether or not Rebecca Sears, 41, shot herself Thursday night as she left her job at Healing Hands Physical Therapy on Highland Avenue, or had someone else do it.
Columbia County authorities indicated Saturday that they had doubts about the woman's story.
Ms. Sears initially told law enforcement that a man appeared from the bushes as she left work, shot her in the leg, then said if she didnt have his money it would be her face, according to a Richmond County sheriffs report.
Ms. Sears and her son, 19-year-old Christopher Sean Bowers, were both charged with murder and murder conspiracy this weekend in connection to the brutal beating of their neighbor, 41-year-old Laverne Katherine Parsons last week in their Grovetown subdivision.
