A car crash on Bobby Jones Expressway killed a 26-year-old man this evening.

The victim, whose identity was not released pending family notification, was driving east about 5:30 p.m. when he lost control of his Oldsmobile Alero while attempting to exit at Windsor Spring Road, said Richmond County Deputy Coroner Mark Bowen.

The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from his vehicle when it hit the embankment and flipped several times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Speed and weather conditions were factors in the wreck, Mr. Bowen said.

I saw cars today without their lights on. I saw speeders, and others cutting in and out of traffic. I saw a bunch of idiots on the road.

You people should all be

You people should all be ashamed of yourselves. Making assumptions and actusations. This young man is dead, lets just reflect on that fact for bit and not on what could have been done differently.

So he wasnt wearing a

So he wasnt wearing a seatbelt. Yes, its wrong, but he does not deserve to be dead. The ones on here that want to say such negative things act as if you're such perfect, law-abiding citizens and never do any wrong. Have a little respect for a change. God bless him and his family!

I agree with jasall18, you

I agree with jasall18, you all should be ashamed of yourselves. Instead of pointing out something such as the seatbelt, offer your prayers for this young man and his loved ones who lost him. I seen the seen of the accident and god bless this young man who lost his life to soon. It is what it is, an accident. My heart goes out to him and his family. God rest his soul.

And wearing a seat belt is

And wearing a seat belt is not guarantee of surviving. I do agree with wearing them. But notice they no longer broadcast public service announcements re no one wearing a seat belt has died. I had a good friend in high school who was ejected from a car and survived with only a broken limb. Had she been wearing a seat belt it was said by the investigators that should would have not survived the accident.

Some of you people should be

Some of you people should be ashamed of yourselves. This is a young man who has passed away. Have a little respect! He may have been on his phone, speeding, or not wearing his seatbelt, but that does not give you the right to be so hateful. We all wonder what's wrong with America. Hint: It's our fellow citizens!

It does not matter if he had his seat belt on or not. I had a friend who was killed and he had on his seat belt. My prayers are with this guy's family.

I had a good friend burn and die in a car wreck because he was wearing a seatbelt and could not get it loose. I don't wear one because of that.

Thank you Christie it is the

Thank you Christie it is the truth though. I don't wear mine either. Sorry to hear that bertmans. Half of the time the cops do not wear theirs either. The only thing seat belts do is keep you from going through the window and sometimes if you hit hard enough it can snap so what is the difference to wear them or not.

In order to be P.C. we will

In order to be P.C. we will never know what took this young mans life other than "he wasn't wearing a seat belt". It's a shame that the police can't provide an answer, only the results of a incident. It's like we as a people can't handle the truth or we are not smart enough to be informed. Someone must have seen what happened at that time of day at that location, so tell us police was it bald tires, telephones, speed, erratic lane changing, dancing in the front seat to his boom-boom-boomda, what? I feel sorry for the young guy and his family but my goodness did he have any respect for other families driving the same road?
