A lone gunman robbed the SRP Federal Credit Union on North Belair Road this morning.

The bank will pay $2,000 to anyone providing authorities with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect, said Columbia County sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris.

Capt. Morris said the man approached a teller at the bank just before 11 a.m., brandished a handgun and demanded money.

He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash and drove away in a dark green, four-door sedan.

Authorities are searching for the man, described as black, 5-feet 10-inches tall and about 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing dark denim pants, a gray sweatshirt, a pink bandana, green latex gloves, sunglasses and a Dallas Cowboys ball cap.

Anyone with information regarding this suspect should contact the sheriff’s office at (706) 541-2800.

But no mention of skin

But no mention of skin pigmentation in the description. Nice! The pink doo-rag is a nice touch for a Cowgirls hat though. I never realized the Cowboys were a baseball team. Maybe T.O. has found a new gig......

Thanks, LucyBall. Instead of trying to read the article and make an intelligent comment, folks would rather jump on the slam wagon. I really think that the AC should do away with these comments sections-they only encourage negativity.

Whyme I agree with doing away

Whyme I agree with doing away with the comment sections so many of these people make the most vile comments. The anonymity of the internet just gives them the opportunity to say what to many are too coward to say in public.

Make a comment in the AC

Make a comment in the AC comments section stating the AC should remove their comments section so the commentors can not comment. Brilliant!

Maybe he's the same 5'10" 200

Maybe he's the same 5'10" 200 lb man who kicked in the back door at Immaculate Conception School earlier. Maybe he didn't find enough of value in a poor, inner city school and headed out to the rich 'burbs.

Why don't banks use a

Why don't banks use a security system involving two sets of entrance doors. Once the robber exits the first set of doors, someone can trigger both sets of doors to close and lock automatically. Rat meets trap.

Thankfully, no one was injured! Did any of you numskulls think about that instead of making moronic comments about unrelated issues? I happen to know one of the employees who happened to call her mother just as this went down ... think that didn't cause some anxiety. "Sorry, Mom ... gotta go we're being robbed!"
