The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in identifying those responsible for making nine bomb threats against Butler High School in the past week.

Sgt. Calvin Chew, a violent crimes investigator, released recordings of eight of the threats today and asked that anyone with information about the calls to contact the sheriff’s office at (706) 821-1080.

The calls are being placed to 911 using prepaid and disconnected cell phones, which adds to the challenge of tracking down the callers. The callers, however, can be tracked down, Sgt. Chew said.

“A lot of times we get good leads,” he said of the callers. “It’s wrong, it’s against the law and it will be punished accordingly.”

aa30809, when was the last

aa30809, when was the last bomb detonated in a public school after the school received prior warning? exactly - these are children's games, and the children have adults jumping thru hoops right now screaming, "protect the children! protect the children!" the only thing a bomb threat does is disrupt the teaching day and annoy law enforcement. whenever a bomb threat occurs, the teaching day should be extended for students who are failing any class that is disrupted.

Bone, it doesn't just annoy

Bone, it doesn't just annoy law enforcement it COSTS! Why are kids taking cell phones to school anyway. They should be banned from there, and taken away from any student in possession of one during school hours on school property.

bone, these are not

bone, these are not children's game when something really does happen. just think back to columbine and the recent shooting in a german school (as well as other public slaughters). maybe you and some of these other posters "need" for something bad to happen and one of these calls to come true before you think it is a serious situation instead of a childs game!!! i hope these children are found and punished!!
