A Richmond County sheriff’s motorcycle deputy was injured this afternoon after an accident at the corner of Gordon Highway and Sibley Road.

Deputy Ronald Blanton suffered some broken bones when his motorcycle collided with a van, according to sheriff’s Lt. Scott Gay.

The driver of the van told police at the scene that he was not hurt, Lt. Gay said.

It is not yet clear who caused the wreck. The crash is being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol, Lt. Gay said.

What u bet the driver of the van says "I just did not see the motorcycle". Drivers of cars and other vehicles just do not look for nor see M/Cs or bicycles. This just my own humble opinion, but I have been riding M/Cs for over 50 years.
