Murder charges dropped for 2

Aiken County authorities have dropped murder charges for two North Augusta men in the fatal shooting of Julius Walker.

Aiken County Sheriff’s Office dropped murder, first degree burglary and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime charges for Joseph Kemp, 25, of the 100 block of Nappier Lane, and Anthony Perry, 24, of the 2000 block of Celeste Circle, over the weekend, said Capt. Troy Elwell.

Tyrone Wade, 23, of the 100 block of Greenland, remains in the the Aiken County Detention Center on all three charges. Police believe he shot and killed the 23-year-old on Feb. 28 at his home in the 500 block of Samuels Street in North Augusta.

Both Mr. Perry and Mr. Kemp had an alibi for their whereabouts Feb. 28, but remain in the Aiken County Detention Center on unrelated charges, Capt. Elwell said.

Investigators are now searching for another suspect in the fatal shooting, but have not yet released a name.
