2 sought in liquor store holdup

Columbia County police spent today looking for two men who robbed a Martinez liquor store Friday night.

The men wearing masks and armed with a handgun entered Harvard Wine and Beverage at 110 Old Evans Road at about 9:45 p.m., said Columbia County sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris. No one injured during the robbery, he said.

The men demanded and received an undisclosed amount of money before running from the scene, Capt. Morris said.

They were believed to be black, but there was no other details of their appearance, Capt. Morris said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (706) 541-2800.
