A Cross Creek High School student was arrested this afternoon after a gun was discovered in his car.

A K-9 unit from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office was doing a routine open air search of the school's parking lot when a dog alerted deputies to 17-year-old Allen Andrew Jones’s vehicle, according to Richmond County Board of Education spokesman Louis Svehla. Deputies found a 22 caliber handgun inside the car, Mr. Svehla said. Mr. Jones was charged with possession of a firearm on school property and criminal trespass, according to a sheriff’s jail committal. He was also charged with obstruction of a law enforcement officer after trying to flee from deputies.

KUDOS to the CCHS

KUDOS to the CCHS administration and to RCSD for their no-nonsense, no-excuses approach to the handling of this criminal matter! And I don't want to read and hear another enabling Mama's whining that her son is a good boy who is being singled out by Gestapo-like authorities. Such Mamas and their "little boys" need to grow up.

Whether your child grows up

Whether your child grows up to be a criminal or not, be sure to teach them never to run from the police, guilty or innocent. It will always get them a bullet in their a s s and a mark on their record.

Nothing will happen to the
Unpublished

Nothing will happen to the student. Excuses will be made, attempts to downplay the seriousness will be made, his future opportunities for employment will be considered, and the lest amount of damage will be decided in this case. Nothing new here....
