Teens charged in bomb threat

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two teens accused of threatening to bomb Midland Valley High School.

Jeffrey Ferrell, 18, of Oxpens Road, Warrenville, was arrested Monday and charged with making a bomb threat, unlawful use of a telephone and disturbing schools, said Aiken County Sheriff’s Capt. Troy Elwell.

Cody Hart, 17, of Converse Drive in Aiken was arrested Saturday and charged with making a bomb threat, unlawful use of a telephone and disturbing schools.

Police believe the teens called the Aiken County high school on Jan. 27 claiming to be Blood gang members and threatening to shoot two victims and bomb Midland Valley High the next day, Capt. Elwell said.

Investigators later traced the call back to one of the teenager’s cell phones.

Mr. Ferrell remains at the Aiken County Detention Center. Mr. Hart was released this week.
