An 82-year-old man died in a fire in North Augusta tonight.

Lt. Tim Pearson of North Augusta Public Safety said firefighters answered a call at 8:02 p.m. at No. 3 Linnet Loop, near West Martintown Road. The man was found in the back of the house, he said.

The cause of the fire appeared to be electrical, Lt. Pearson said, although it is still under investigation.

He said the man's identification was being withheld pending notification of family.
