The man, described as a black, between 20 and 35 years old and wearing a gray long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and a green and tan hat, bought a pack of gum from the Kangaroo Express at 421 Martintown Road and then left the store in a dark-colored car with tinted windows, according to a police report. He came back about seven minutes later and ordered the clerk to open the cash register.
The man took about $30 from the register and ordered the clerk into the storage room. The clerk locked the door and waited for the man to leave before calling the police.
