A new traffic signal at Evans to Locks Road and Blue Ridge Drive starts flashing Wednesday.

The signal will remain in flash mode until 10 a.m. March 3, when normal stop-and-go operations commence, according to an e-mail from Pam Tucker, Columbia County’s director of emergency operations.

The intersection is heavily traveled at the start and end of schools each weekday. Blue Ridge Elementary, Lakeside Middle and Lakeside High all are located on Blue Ridge Drive.
