COLUMBIA, S.C. - A South Carolina Amber Alert has been canceled after two girls believed abducted by their father after he stabbed their mother have been found safe.

Lancaster County Sheriff's Maj. David Belk said the girls were found Friday at a Lancaster apartment complex. Authorities said they believe 29-year-old Gerardo Reyes-Campos took 1-year-old Destiny and 3-year-old Melanie to the complex shortly after leaving the family's Lancaster home.

Authorities said Reyes-Campos stabbed his common-law wife, Diane Madisol Trejo, in the neck and hands during a fight around 6 p.m. Thursday

Belk said Trejo was in critical but stable condition at a Columbia hospital Friday.

Authorities originally thought Reyes-Campos headed to North Carolina but now say they think he went south toward Columbia.

Has anyone noticed how this

Has anyone noticed how this type of stuff seems to mainly happen with common law relationships? These women need to stop shacking up with dead beats who want to kill them and their kids!

Many women are attracted to

Many women are attracted to "bad" guys; they are more exciting and far more challenging than "nice" guys who smother them with too much love and attention. It is an ATTRACTION - that means they do not consciously try to like someone. But just because you are attracted to someone does not mean it is right to continue seeing their sorry a**! Turn around and run the other way. Avoid them at all costs.

There are quite a few illegal

There are quite a few illegal aliens in this area. Deporting them is not a top priority with local law enforcement. Even when they are in and out of jail.

We had several SC child

We had several SC child abduction alerts that interuoted the hockey game. I didn't mind that because a child being found is a top priority. All I saw was the message with no info at all on the case....might as well not even alot anyone.
