AIKEN - Prosecutors say two 10-year-old boys who tried to trade marijuana to their South Carolina elementary school classmates for bubble gum or desserts won't face drug charges.

Burnettown authorities said they weren't sure the children knew that what they were doing was wrong.

Authorities say 3 grams of marijuana were found on two Jefferson Elementary School fourth-graders after their classmates told teachers. Police say they don't know where the students found the drugs or why they brought them to school.

Police say they do not think the boys or any of the children at the school smoked the drug or were in any serious danger.

Thank God some common sense

Thank God some common sense was applied to this situation instead of making children responsible for imitating adult behavior!

WOW, not again!!!!!! These

WOW, not again!!!!!! These kids walked away without being charged. Well folks, need to watch the news and you will see them WALK AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN. Aiken county will never get rid of the horrible drug problems they have as long as SORRY JUDGES are around. When a childs does wrong they need to be punished, not set back out on the street to become a drug dealer. Speaking of COMMON SENSE!!!!! my three year old knows right from wrong!!!!

If they did not know what

If they did not know what they were doing, why would they attempt to trade it for something else? Not to metion other kids has sense enough to report it. I understand it may have been imitated behavior and I am all for the parents being investigated because it came from somewhere and I am sure there is more.
