A 43-year-old Perry, S.C., woman was killed this afternoon in a car accident in Aiken County.

Geneise R. Williams, who died at the scene, was the passenger in a 2005 Nissan Altima driven by Jennifer Abney, 42, of Irmo, S.C., according to the Aiken County Coroner's Office.

The car was traveling north on South Dixie Road in Wagener when Ms. Abney attempted to make a left turn onto Holiness Church Road, the coroner's office said.

A 2003 Chevy Impala, driven by 18-year-old Ronnie H. Toole Jr. of Salley, struck the passenger side of the Nissan, killing Ms. Williams.

Ms. Abney was taken to the Medical College of Georgia Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Mr. Toole was not seriously injured, according to the coroner's office.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, the third fatal accident in Aiken County this year.

All occupants were wearing seat belts, according to the highway patrol.
