Augusta State’s Nicole Mealing has been dismissed from the women's basketball team for conduct detrimental to the team, coach Tes Sobomehin announced Monday in a press release from the school.

A junior forward from North Augusta, Mealing led the Lady Jaguars in scoring at 14.7 ppg., and ranked fifth in the Peach Belt Conference in scoring.

“It is disappointing to the Augusta State women’s basketball program to lose a member of the team,” Sobomehin said in the statement.

The Lady Jaguars take on Lander in a Peach Belt Conference matchup Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Christenberry Fieldhouse.

Tes has gotten rid of two of our best players from last year, Sherika Parker and Nicole Mealing.... not a good sign for the lady jags to come.... No wonder Tes Sobonowin only won 4 games last year, and has tornup a team that tied for the PBC regular season title last year.....
