Police seek 2 for holdup attempt on 12-year-old

  • Follow Latest News

Police were looking today for two suspects who they believe attacked and attempted to rob a 12-year-old boy on Wednesday.

The boy was stuffing $10 in his back pocket while leaving the Discount Stop on Sand Bar Ferry Road around 5 p.m. Wednesday when two men jumped him, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office report.

Police believe when the 12-year-old tried to fight back one of the men threw a brick at his left foot. The victim was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital with a swollen foot, according to the report.

What a crying shame that

What a crying shame that anyone gets robbed, especially a child. I hope these yellow belly thugs are caught and serve a very long time looking at the world from the other side of the bars!

If white folks would stop

If white folks would stop running downtown to buy drugs and prostitutes, crime would get better. I think I get it, they were going down there to help find prescription drug discounts for Micheal Phelps and Rush Limbough....

Gone are the days when a 12

Gone are the days when a 12 year old could hop on a bus unaccompanied and go downtown to buy a few grocery items. My mom used to do that as a child of 8. I'm concerned about my safety when I do not have someone with me and I'm an adult.

That's all right. Lets keep

That's all right. Lets keep on bringing in able bodied homeless drifters from God only knows where. But them we all know that the "homeless" are always absolutely harmless...RIGHT? This could not have been done by homeless men..no imposible. Let's just keep allowing more of them to pile into Augusta. Beg for more donations and give out more stuff and the homeless population will be like the unwanted pet population except that we can't sent the homeless to the pound to be put to selee;. We re stuck with real problems.

A 12 year old stuffing a $10

A 12 year old stuffing a $10 into his pocket @ the Discount Stop? Isn't that comparable to hunting a bated field? The results are very predictable in each case. How did this 12 year old fight off the two manly muggers? Whatever, I'm glad he did and that he wasn't hurt. I hope he gained some wisdom from the experience. Shame on his momma for raising him in that environment.

This is just one that got

This is just one that got published, you have no idea how many assaults & attempted robberies happen in downtown Augusta. These are people with no self respect, let alone respect for others. Their housing is practically free, food is free, medical is covered (& yes for the completely able bodied, just lazy, ones too), no desire to better themselves & passing down their lack of values to a whole new generation. Being firsthand familiar w/ this case, the boy & his family, I do not fault the parents. It is simply the fault the two worthless boys, no real man would do this, & the lack of parenting they have grown up with.

trauma, first you say you do

trauma, first you say you do not fault the parents and then turn around and say it is the lack of parenting. I give, which is it?
