Armed bandit still sought

Police continued to search this afternoon for a man they believe robbed a gas station clerk at gunpoint Wednesday night.

Richmond County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to First Stop on the 2700 block of Tobacco Road around 8:46 p.m. Wednesday where a clerk said a man wearing all black clothing and a white mask demanded money while brandishing a handgun, according to a sheriff’s report.

After taking money from the register, the suspect fired one round into a 12-pack of grape soda, and left, according to the report.
