Police seized hundreds of counterfeit designer items from an Evans home this morning.

More than 500 items were apprehended from 700 Brownsfield Lane near Riverwood Parkway after police received a complaint several days ago and searched the residence about 10:30 a.m. today, said Columbia County sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris.

The fake merchandise included purses, wallets, jewelry and other similar items from several designer companies such as Prada, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel and Coach, Capt. Morris said.

The woman who lives in the home faces charges and was not at home during the search, Capt. Morris said. He was told the woman was traveling home from Atlanta.

Columbia County Morning

Columbia County Morning Police Briefing......
"Men, After careful review of my calendar, I have found that Valentines Day is right around the corner. We need to bust somebody hard-core, so we can score some gifts for our ladies. So here's what we're going to do, we are going to bust this lady in Riverwood Subdivision that has some imitation Louis Vitton, Gucci, D&G, and Coach purses, glasses, handbags, etc...... and the first 20 officers to get there can keep what you find. Sirens, Whalers, Reckless Driving, and General abuse of Police Liberties are encouraged, and we will let you know if there is any real crime that needs fighting today. Ready....BREAK!!!"

icanusethat??? Are you this lady's lawyer? I mean, man, you sound just like one of those high-falootin', expensive, educated lawyers! But why do you have to bring RACE into this??? Why do you have to bring the Chinese people into this? Don't be hatin!! Why are you trying to keep the Chinese man down?? In the words of the great Joseph Lowery..."We need to help the yella fella!!"...well, maybe that's not exactly what he said, but I know what he meant!

If the lady simplly advised her customers that the items were psuedo-(brand), she would not be in trouble today.

I Can Hear her now......"This STUFF IS FAKE?????" "I've been ripped off!"" I want to press charges!" "The Guy in the tricked out four-door F-450 looked suspicious." "But It's PRADA!" "He said he used to sell "no-name" brand tools outta the back of his truck!""He said since the economy went sour that tools weren't doin' so well!" "Can I describe him?" "Yes, he's about five-five, 150 lbs, dark hair and a unibrow." "He had on nice clothes and a Gold Nugget Horseshoe Ring with a BIG Diamond in it."

This woman was selling fake

This woman was selling fake goods, likely made in China. She did tell undercover police that they were real. She took credit cards with a swipe machine. She is accused of holding "purse parties" (kind of like a tupperware party) and selling the stuff out of her home. She may or may not have paid taxes on this income. She certainly contributed money to criminal enterprises, that unlike many of you, won't pay taxes. One of the companies that she was ripping off (Dooney and Burke) almost went out of business a few years ago because of people selling counterfeit copies of their handbags. This is a New England company whose bags are predominately made in the USA. They have 1000 US employees who, without arrests like this, would be unemployed today. You would then, through your tax dollars, help pay their unemployment. Many USA jobs are lost each year to the sale of fake products. More money, in this country, is spent on fake goods than is spent on drugs. I hope she does jail time.

I have been a police officer
Unpublished

I have been a police officer for over 30 years and the public always amazes me. While I know many people do appreciate what we do, there are always those you cannot please. If we get a tip on criminal activity and don't respond, we're lazy and if we take action, we are overzealous. You just keep complaining and we'll continue to put our life on the line every day to protect you and your family!
