AIKEN - The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office has issued arrest warrants charging two Anderson men in the slaying of an Aiken man.

James W. Alston, 27, and Travonte Williams, 22, are charged with murder in the death of 61-year-old George Woltz Jr. in his Westover Drive home, according to the sheriff's office.

Mr. Alston was arrested this morning and is in jail in Anderson County on unrelated charges.

Police are still looking for Mr. Williams and another unidentified person.

Lt. Troy Elwell of the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office said Mr. Williams is believed to be in the Anderson area.

On Sunday police in Anderson arrested Keith Alan Fitzgerald, Mr. Woltz' distant cousin and roommate. He will be charged arson, grand larceny and murder when he is returned to Aiken County, according to the sheriff's office.

Firefighters found Mr. Woltz's body Saturday night after a fire at his home at 845 Westover St. The arrest warrant says the attackers killed Mr. Woltz by "beating and torturing him." The county coroner said an autopsy showed that he died of asphyxiation.

The men were seen by witnesses leaving the alleged victim's home shortly before the fire started.

Anyone with information on Mr. Williams' whereabouts is asked to call the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office at (800) 922-9709 or the Anderson Police Department at (864) 231-2277.
