The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said this afternoon that it has sent a malfunctioning dash camera video tape from Sunday's police shooting of Justin Elmore to the Augusta Office of the FBI.

The videotape will be forwarded to the FBI Crime Lab in Washington for repair and video recovery, according to a statement from Gary Nicholson, special GBI agent in charge of the regional office.

Two other video cameras also captured the incident, but authorities have refused to make their images public, although Sheriff Ronnie Strength says he has seen them and they support the action taken by his men.

Mr. Elmore was shot Sunday during a confrontation with Richmond County sheriff's deputies, an incident that has produced demonstrations and protests around the Cherry Tree Crossing public housing complex for the past three nights.

Four were arrested Tuesday night and charged with disorderly conduct. They were identified today as:

* Dexter Barnett, 21, of the 1500 block of Wooten Street.

* Rodriquez McFadden, 17, of the 1600 block of McCauley Street.

* Michael Harry Riley, 52, of the 1500 block of Bleakley Street.

* Bartrell Griffin, 17, of the 2800 block of Rocky Creek Road.

Sgt. Ken Rogers said none of the men have been accused of assaulting a police officer.

Also today, state Rep. Wayne Howard said he plans to meet with the residents of Cherry Tree Crossing.

After a breakfast meeting between legislators and the Richmond County school board, Mr. Howard said no meeting is scheduled for the residents of the community, but one will be held.

His state House district includes the public housing community where Mr. Elmore was shot. He died Tuesday after being taken off life-support systems.

Why doesn't Mr. Howard ask

Why doesn't Mr. Howard ask them at the meeting instead of defending this man's actions to look at what he was brining into their public housing with innocent children around. Guns and drugs. Is that what they want for their children. One of those guns could have killed one of their kids as well as drugs gotten into their hands. Tell them they are living on the taxpayer dollars and could be living on the street. They should be thankful and keep that kind of activity out of their homes and neighborhoods. Where are all of the churches in that area? Maybe they should get the tent revivals back in town to give them something to do and teach them a thing or two. Tell them that if they want to be treated equal then to start acting equal. Don't put up with crime and violence in their own neighborhoods. Where are the men and father figures in the neighborhoods? Get out on the street and teach these men to act like responsibile law abiding citizens? We all have choices and will be held accountable for the choices we make. If we don't start teaching our children that we need to make good choices then this activity will just continue.

How about a meeting that would address NOT doing drugs, NOT stealing vehicles, and NOT using a vehicle as a weapon.

How safe is it to go downtown

How safe is it to go downtown in the 13th street broad street area. We have dinner plans at a restaurant there tomorrow but should I cancel them or is this only isolated to the 15th street area?

Why would you want to have a

Why would you want to have a meeting with these people. I say we need to kick them out stop funding these people for having free housing free food and kick them on the street maybe that would make them get a job and they wouldn't have to worry about committing a crime. I am starting to get mad that my tax dollars have to goto these people. When all they do is sell drugs shoot at the police and cry when they have to move to a different l;ocation when they aren't even paying rent there. Maybe the govt should stop funding these projects, when all they do is raise crime and sell drugs and shoot police.

That area is treating that

That area is treating that man like a hero becuase they were raised to hate the police, and sell drugs. I think we need to start a movement that stops govt's from funindg projects becuase all the projects do is promote violence and create more crime rates.
Projects were created to help unfortunate family's get a jump start then move out . But no a days it's live in the projectas forever and not get a job and let the govt pay for everything . I wish I could have it like that, when i am struggling to pay bills when they don't have to worry about anything but who stole my drugs and wheres the beer at!

Howard is gonna have a
Unpublished

Howard is gonna have a problem with this one and a meeting to have "lipservice" will not help the larger problem. Law enforcement is targeting African-Amrican men and causing them harm, by employing a violence first method. No trial (not that it would've hepled), No jury (most are prejudice, if not properly assembled) But we did get a verdict: Death! All in violation of US Constitution-regardless of any previous contact with the law-The man deserved better. The community deserves better. The country deserves better. We know the outcome of the pending investigation. We know what Howard will say and do. We know the drill, because it happens over & over with the same results. Sound like a perfect definition of "stupidity" which again demonstrate a complete lack of leadership and a complete disregard for human life. Where are the foolish pro-lifers when its really needed?

Yeah, he was such an

Yeah, he was such an upstanding citizen of the community, Justus. Go sell crazy some place else. The cops didn't employ violence, Elmore employed a means of violence and was stopped....dead in his tracks. I bet he won't try that again, will he? How you liberal idiots can defend this idiot it beyond me and is the reason the black community is looked upon as a joke. Maybe the cops SHOULD stay out of the area. Then you lib idiots can kill each other off, while the rest of us try to get along with one another. I live among just about every other race in CC and we all get along great. As for the liberal Augusta? It's segregated from hell and back.

This is for justus4 who are a

This is for justus4 who are a complete idiot becuase you are just a rascist man who plays the race card over and over again. The police do not target african american men, and do not employ a violence first method. Quit playing the race card , all you are doing is promoting rascism. I don't think that's what MLK and all who died had in mind for when they died to promote peace and to eliminate rascism. Get a life and grow up.

You're right Justus. I have

You're right Justus. I have an idea. Let's remove all police from that area. They target "those people" you know. Better yet, let's just build a wall around Cherry Tree Crossing. That way, only the people who live there can be in charge. And then, when people get killed, or innocent mothers and children or fathers are harrassed, you don't have to worry about those evil cops being there...they probably would have just gone after the black person anyway. Geez. The problem isn't black or white, it's people who have been raised with an entitlement mentality...and act childish.

Hold on Law1984... There is a woman who was on welfare and worked at McDonald's. Now she owns 3 McDonald's, drives a Jag and has a diamond that would knock you out if she hit you!
The reality is, one has to care about themself, clean up their act and take responsibility.
My thought... if you live in the project and you don't have a job then you help pick up trash, help cut the grass, help paint tje gym or whatever odd jobs needed. Somebody might learn or develop a trade by doing something to payback living on public assistance.
Buy then, I am Crazy Irish.

One illiterate woman with no teeth and hair that looks like it hand't been combed in a year had the nerve to say "he is our Robin Hood because he passes out diapers to the community. Justus4, I want an

Justus4, I want an answer....were the police supposed to just let this man run over them and escape? What would YOU have had them do? While i am absolutely FOR helping those in need, this incident, and those who support the CRIMINAL deserve to lose all the aid that has been given to them. Those who accuse the police of brutality for defending themselves from assault are absolutely wrong. Period, no discussion needed. this isn't a in doubt, there is FILM of it.

When was the last time you

When was the last time you saw a bunch of white people throwing bottles and shooting at police for enforcing the law? You can sugar coat it any way you want, the thug tried to use a car as a weapon on a police officer. Instead of worrying about hurting someones feelings, go down there and arrest all of the people committing crimes, guns, drugs, prostitution, illegal welfare and SSI recipients.......

Crazy Irish you are right WAS is the word but working for Mcdonald's all their life and still collecting welfare like the vast majority of them are is what I was talking about. The lady who you are talking about is what Welfare is designed for , it's designed to be temporary not a permant life style like 99% of them are doing. Much kudos for that lady.

A lot of this can be solved

A lot of this can be solved by one word. EDUCATION! The deceased and those who now mourn him should have tried to educate themselves to improve their conditions in life. It seems that they have take the quick and dangerous way make a few gains instead of the slow and sure way to success. I can only hope and pray that this situation improves quickly.

I say the firefighters should have not put out the fires and let the idiots burn down their own house....oh wait then that would have meant I would have paid for them to get a new house, like I already pay for their food and clothes and everything else the govt gives them free.
