Reward offered in theft of safe from Grovetown City Hall

Grovetown police advertised an $1,000 reward today for information leading to the capture of the person who stole a safe from City Hall.

Someone stole the safe from Grovetown City Hall Dec. 3. A Public Works Department worker discovered the break-in at about 6 a.m.

The safe contained about $1,000 in cash and checks for bill payments by some city residents. Police found the empty safe later that day along Gordon Highway near the Augusta State Medical Prison.
