Man arrested on charges he tried to rob children

COLUMBUS, Ga. - Police have arrested a man accused of trying to rob a group of young Christmas carolers at gunpoint.

Columbus police Lt. Charles Kennedy said 17-year-old Roderick D. Hill was arrested Friday about an hour after he pointed a gun at five children - ages 7 to 11 - and demanded their belongings. Kennedy said the children ran away before he could take anything, and none of them were injured.

Using information from the children, police found Hill at work at a nearby Church's restaurant with a gun in the front pocket of his jacket. Police say the 32-caliber handgun was stolen Nov. 12.

Hill is charged with five counts of attempted armed robbery and one count of theft by receiving stolen property. He is being held without bond at the Muscogee County jail.

What did he expect to get off

What did he expect to get off these children, their lunch money? Did he really expect them to have like Rolex watches, diamond earrings, or credit cards? Come on!!

The article indicates that

The article indicates that the children were ages 7 - 11, but doesn't state any adults being with the children at the time of the incident. I am glad that this guy was caught and hopefully, he will pay for what he did to the children. My question is why weren't there any adults with these children while they were out caroling?? They should have adult supervison and this may not have happened to them.

The police found him based on

The police found him based on information from the children? Way to go kids!!! Another punk off the streets. And another one down and another one down, another one bites the dust! I am a gambler so, I'll bet that there were adults with the kids. Probably standing down the street talking or something. Once again, too many details left out.
