Obama picks Richardson for Commerce, official says

  • Follow Latest News

CHICAGO – Democratic officials say President-elect Obama plans to name New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson as his choice for Commerce Secretary on Wednesday.

Mr. Richardson was Energy secretary and United Nations ambassador in the administration of President Clinton. He sought the Democratic presidential nomination this year, but eventually dropped out and endorsed Mr. Obama.

He is one of the nation's most prominent Hispanic politicians, and was in the U.S. House before joining Clinton's Cabinet.

The Democratic officials said Tuesday that Mr. Obama will join Mr. Richardson at a news conference in Chicago on Wednesday. They would speak only on condition of anonymity because the announcement hasn't been made.

The change comes from changes

The change comes from changes in policy and the changes that he as president has planned. THe Change Obama speaks of is not changes in the people he surrounds himself with. People who think really make a big deal of the Clinton influence in his cabinet and equate that to a lack of change are really grasping at straws.

Change has come already, the

Change has come already, the first black president ever in the history of the united states. Give the president a chance to start his administration. He has not even started in his new position yet. Would you really want him to be surrounded by new comers who do not have a clue how to run the country?
I should think not. Say what you will but when Clinton was in charge we were not in a war,and the economy was good.
I welcome that time in history to come back around.
