Potential investors won't see Lynx

Potential Augusta Lynx investors will not attend tonight’s home game, Lynx co-owner and general manager Dan Troutman said Saturday afternoon.

Troutman said Friday afternoon that the Lynx won’t last beyond next week unless an investor or group of investors can be found and that he hoped one or two such potential investors could attend tonight’s home game to get a look at the team and game atmosphere.

“I haven’t gotten a commitment from either one,” Troutman said Saturday afternoon.

Troutman wouldn’t identify the potential investors other than to say that both were from out of town. He made an appeal on Friday asking Lynx fans to fill the James Brown Arena in hopes of wooing the would-be investors.

“It might make the conversation easier if the building is flat full of people. It can’t hurt anything at all,” he said.
