Police are searching for a man who robbed an Evans convenience store Sunday.
After buying a pack of cigarettes at a TPS store at 5142 Washington Road, the man handed the cashier a note demanding cash. The clerk asked him if he was joking, but he said he wasn't, according to an incident report.
The clerk told Columbia County sheriff's deputies that the man told her that "... he could not get a break in life and that he was a felon."
The suspect is described as a black man in his mid-30s, between 5 feet and 5-feet, 5-inches tall, and weighing between 200 and 250 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a gray skull cap and suede jump suit.
Anyone with information about the suspect should call the Sheriff's Office at (706) 541-2800.
