Many local precincts miss out on last-minute rush

Observers at a number of Richmond County polling places said the last-minute rush of voters many expected just didn't happen.

Officials had been prepared to turn late-arriving voters away when the showed up after polls closed at 7 p.m.

But at many of the the county's largest precincts such as First Baptist Church on Walton Way said there were few voters still in line when the polls closed.
