ATLANTA - Georgia and South Carolina polls have closed, but voters in line before 7 p.m. can still cast their ballots.

Millions of Georgia voters flocked to the polls on Tuesday to cast their ballots in the presidential race and a slew of down-ticket contests. Lines were shorter than expected at many polling sites, although a handful of precincts experienced technical problems.

More than 2 million Georgia voters have cast their ballots in the six weeks before the election during early and advance voting. Election officials say the strategy helped relieve the crush on the polls Tuesday.
